Browser
A browser in Stairway is an isolated cloud session with its own profile and geographic egress. You interact with it through a streamed remote desktop in your tab, or an agent can drive the same session over MCP.
Lifecycle

| Start / New browser | Starts the session with your chosen egress and opens the stream when ready |
| Open | Opens (or reopens) the streamed UI for a running session |
| Stop / auto-sleep | Puts the session to sleep; profile is retained |
| Resume | Brings a sleeping session back |
| Restart | Restarts the session |
| Delete | Tears down the session permanently |
Idle sessions auto-sleep when no viewer is attached (see Browser configuration).
Session identity
- Each session has a unique id.
- Optional nickname and notes make sessions easier to find on Browsers (
/browsers) and the most recent one on the Dashboard. - You can share with a team so teammates see the session under team browsers.
Human + agent
Opening the stream and connecting MCP both target the same browser. Coordinate so you and an agent are not interacting with the same page controls at once.
